Oakville Hydro is conducting an online Public Electrical Safety Survey.

Are you an Oakville resident who’s looking to participate?* You’ve come to the right place! Click on this link to take part. The survey will take only a few minutes to complete and assesses the community’s understanding of staying safe around electricity and electrical equipment, and covers topics ranging from overhead powerlines to transformer boxes and underground safety. You will not be asked personal details, such as your telephone number, address or credit card/banking information.

*You must be a resident of Oakville, Ontario and be 18 years of age or older to participate in the survey and be entered into the prize draw(s).

Public Safety Awareness

The equipment that we use to distribute electricity to homes and businesses across Oakville is extremely dangerous. Because equipment such as powerlines and poles are often in public areas, we take steps to protect the public by providing information about safety risks and the precautions to take when near our equipment.

Did you know that you must maintain a distance of 3 or more metres from overhead powerlines? Watch this video to see what happens to Lucky the squirrel when he gets too close!
